Funding routes

Common ways people fund their equipment

Which route applies depends on your circumstances, whether the equipment is for home, work or school, and your local authority's criteria. We'll help you work out what's worth pursuing during assessment.

01
Access to Work
A government scheme that can fund equipment needed to do your job. We're an approved supplier and can help with the application.
02
NHS wheelchair services
Your local NHS wheelchair service may provide equipment following a clinical assessment, depending on eligibility criteria.
03
Local Authority / Social Services
Following an OT assessment, your Local Authority may fund equipment for use at home, depending on your circumstances.
04
Charitable grants and trusts
A number of charities offer grants toward mobility equipment. We can point you toward ones worth applying to.

Paying directly, or through a claim

Many people fund equipment directly. We'll always give you a clear, itemised quote so you know exactly what you're paying for.

Most funding routes start with your occupational therapist (OT), who assesses your needs and helps identify the right route, whether that's a personal injury claim, insurance settlement or another source. We're used to working closely with OTs, as well as solicitors and case managers.

Where a client is eligible for more than one route, we'll help you understand which is worth pursuing first, and how they might work together.
